Stüwe brake systems are versatile and suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. They can be used as holding, stopping or service brakes. We offer both active and passive brakes in various designs, which are actuated mechanically, pneumatically or hydraulically. One of our core competences is the individualized adaptation of our brake systems to the specific requirements of our customers.
Pneumatic and mechanical brakes:

Stüwe Stop-Turn-Block System
Versatility at the highest level
The STB system from STÜWE was developed for propeller shafts with a main power of up to 25 MW in large yachts, cruise ships, ferries or commercial vessels developed. Thanks to a modular system, our devices can be used with all three, only two or only one of the main STOP-TURN-BLOCK functions can be supplied.

TURN:The main shaft can be rotated in both directions without starting the main motor. The rotator is electrically operated and is normally equipped with a safety hand wheel for emergency operation.
BLOCK:The shaft can be blocked by a pin that is inserted into the intended holes in the discs. The pin can be operated easily by hand or conveniently by handwheel or electrically.
